In collaboration with several French industrial and academic partners (CISTEME, Rohde & Schwarz, XLIM, AMCAD, Dassault Systèmes, and Wupatec), the FlexSoGreenXG project addresses key challenges in future 5G and 6G communication systems. This large-scale R&D initiative is part of the France 2030 program and aims to strengthen innovation, sustainability, and technological sovereignty.
Within this project, which is scheduled to run until 2029, Wupatec contributes its expertise to the development of advanced radio solutions for indoor and private network deployments. The objective is to design flexible and energy-efficient radio building blocks capable of operating across multiple frequency bands, while minimizing power consumption and electromagnetic emissions to meet stringent environmental and regulatory constraints.
In this context, Wupatec focuses on innovative approaches combining high-efficiency RF power amplification, digital signal processing, and flexible radio architectures. Particular attention is given to hardware and software technologies based on FPGA platforms, enabling adaptable, secure, and high-performance radio units suitable for both public and private network scenarios.
Beyond the development of complete radio units, the results of these R&D activities will also be made available as independent technological building blocks. This approach allows other partners and system manufacturers to develop their own RF equipment using optimized hardware and validated solutions, demonstrated through concrete use cases.
More broadly, FlexSoGreenXG responds to the growing need for sustainable, secure, and sovereign communication infrastructures. Future 5G and 6G networks will not only serve consumer connectivity, but will also support industrial private networks, smart buildings, and mission-critical infrastructures, where energy efficiency, cybersecurity, and controlled electromagnetic emissions are as critical as raw performance.
Through this project, FlexSoGreenXG aims to deliver:
Flexible radio solutions for indoor and outdoor environments
Energy-efficient radio units with reduced electromagnetic impact
Secure and resilient architectures for private network deployments
Optimized radio designs aligned with European sovereignty objectives
By contributing to FlexSoGreenXG, Wupatec supports the development of next-generation communication infrastructures that combine performance, sustainability, and technological independence—key pillars for the future of connectivity in France and Europe.
OUR SOLUTIONS
Combined efforts that ensure first-pass success
Wupatec’s two pillars reside in its strong digital and analog knowledge. By having expertise in both fields RF and digital, we ensure DPD friendliness, or the amplifier’s behaviour can be anticipated during the design phase towards its final environment. Let’s work together.
