Wupatec at MWE 2025 – FR3 GaN Power Amplifier Demonstration with Mitsubishi Electric
Wupatec will take part in MWE 2025 in Yokohama alongside our Japanese distributor IMC, where we will present a joint demonstration developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric.
This upcoming demo is centered on GaN power amplifier behaviour in the FR3 band (7.125–24.25 GHz) under wideband operating conditions.
Visitors will be able to discover how Mitsubishi Electric’s GaN PA module interacts with Wupatec’s FR3 evaluation board, an RFSoC-based platform used to generate, capture and process wideband FR3 signals.
The setup is designed to examine efficiency, linearization performance and measurement accuracy across large instantaneous bandwidths, in line with 5G-Advanced requirements.
What the Demonstration Will Cover
During MWE, attendees will have the opportunity to explore several technical aspects relevant to FR3 characterisation:
• wideband stimulus and acquisition tailored to FR3 frequencies • linearization behaviour under realistic modulation conditions • efficiency trends and measurement stability across the FR3 range • interactions between analogue RF stages and digital processing • integration considerations for lab or ATE environments
The goal is to give engineers a clear view of how FR3 power amplifiers behave when evaluated with a mixed hardware/digital test approach.
Meet the Team in Yokohama
Stéphane and Pierre from Wupatec will be present throughout the exhibition to walk visitors through the demonstration and discuss specific measurement or integration requirements.
The joint presence of IMC, Mitsubishi Electric and Wupatec aims to provide a coherent technical view of FR3 characterisation challenges in the context of 5G-Advanced.
