Following a successful year of development, the project FlexSoGreen remains on track. Yesterday, the consortium met at the Rohde & Schwarz offices in Paris. We would like to thank them for their hospitality and excellent organization.
Irene de Gruijter represented Wupatec at the MWC Pitch Contest in Barcelona — and won. A recognition rooted in a concrete engineering challenge: managing frequency transitions at the edge of 5G and 6G.
Wupatec will take part in MWE 2025 in Yokohama alongside our Japanese distributor IMC, where we will present a joint demonstration developed in collaboration with Mitsubishi Electric.
This upcoming demo is centered on GaN power amplifier behaviour in the FR3 band (7.125–24.25 GHz) under wideband operating conditions.
The FR3 range will play a central role in 5G-Advanced and future 6G systems. It combines high data rates and low latency (which are features of FR1 and FR2 bands) with the ability to penetrate buildings and maintain connections over longer distances than mmWave (or FR2). All this, while avoiding the drawbacks of the current bands in use.
The 2025 edition of European Microwave Week (EuMW) took place in Utrecht from 21 to 26 September, bringing together key players in RF, microwave and wireless technologies. For Wupatec, it was an opportunity to meet engineers, researchers, and partners from across the industry to discuss the future of high-efficiency RF systems and emerging FR3 frequency bands.

The FR3 band (7.125 – 24.25 GHz) has been gaining attention for its potential to address current performance gaps and enhance future networks.
This exclusive webinar brought together experts from both industry and academia who shared insights from their respective fields.
The Mobile World Congress is a key event for spotting trends and innovations in telecom. MWC 2025 confirmed this, with AI leading the way, NTN pushing toward global connectivity, and O-RAN evolving in a competitive market.
